Win 1 of 4 Scholarships to Drawn to Write Summer 2020
In partnership with our sponsor, Read + Co Books, we are pleased to announce our contest When Artists Become Heroes. This contest will see 4 winners in two age categories awarded Read + Seed scholarships to the sixth annual Drawn to Write Comic Book Creator Camps.
We run two camps, In the Beginning for ages 9+ (August 5-7) and To Be Continued (August 12-14). At present, the camps are still being held in-person in Edmonton, but high-quality live and pre-recorded content is being developed in case the camps have to be held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
HOW TO APPLY:
Submit a one-page comic, with three panels or more, featuring vivid storytelling and illustrating creative ways young people can help their communities. Submissions will be accepted at firstname.lastname@example.org from May 1 to May 31 and will be judged by instructors and program developers Daniel Schneider and Jeff Martin. You can either create something digitally, or simply take a photograph of the comic you create and email it. Winners will be announced on June 4th.
